When did you start your career with Galgorm Collection?

I started in March 2013.

 

What was your first position at Galgorm?

My first position was as Front Office Assistant, this included Reception, Switchboard and Reservations Roles.  This allowed me to cover all areas of the Front Office.

What other positions have you held since you began working for Galgorm Collection?

Front Office Assistant – 2 ½ years

Customer Service Assistant (Maternity Cover) – 1 year

Reservations Team leader – 6 months

Reservations Manager -  2 years & 3 months

Revenue Manager - 4 years

 

Tell us about how Galgorm helped you progress your career?

Galgorm has been a massive support in the progression of my career. I started with little experience and due to the training and coaching I received, I was able to do well in my various roles. This meant more opportunity when it came to promotions.

 

Tell us about any qualifications, courses or training you have completed while working for Galgorm?

  • World Host
  • Coaching Training
  • NVQ Level 2 in Team leadership
  • Hospa Level 1 in Revenue Management

 

What is your current position at Galgorm and your day to day duties?

I am currently Group Revenue Manag, this includes:

  • To increase profitability through effective yield management
  • Maximising the use of our PMS and Channel Manager
  • Analysing booking patterns and market trends
  • Monitor Competitor performance
  • Forecasting revenue performance

 

What do you love the most about working for Galgorm Collection?

I love how every day is different, I feel that I continue to learn new things every day. It is amazing to see how much the Resort has changed since I first started and also how it continues to change. I enjoy putting plans in place for my department to assist with these changes and seeing the results. I have a fantastic team behind me and it is great to see them achieve and progress. I am very proud to work at Galgorm due to the reputation it has.

 

What would you say to someone thinking of joining the Hospitality Industry?

Hospitality does not mean long and unsociable hours. It means working as a team and making the Guests happy which makes it all worthwhile. If you want a job which means you can learn something new every day and continually progress in your career, Hospitality is the place to be!
