When did you start your career with Galgorm Collection?

I joined Galgorm Collection in November 2017.

 

What was your first position within the Collection?

I started as a Spa Receptionist and held this position for 3 years. My main duties included welcoming and checking in day spa guests, working alongside the Therapy team to ensure medical forms were completed for treatments and carrying out general admin duties.

 

What other positions have you held since you began working for Galgorm Collection?

After working 3 years as a Spa Receptionist, I moved to Hotel Reception and held this position for a year and a half before progressing on to the Trainee Management program which allowed me to gain experience in Housekeeping, Banqueting, Spa Management, Pool Plant and Food & Beverage outlets. I was in this role for 6 months.

 

Tell us how Galgorm Collection helped you progress your career?

I came to Galgorm as a fully trained Beauty Therapist and had the intention of continuing in that profession as a Spa Therapist. Once I started my job as a Spa Receptionist, I learned that this was the area I preferred and started to show an interest in progressing within the company. With the support and guidance from my line managers, they were able to direct me in a way that helped me develop my skills and knowledge before progressing into Management. By making the move the Hotel Reception, this allowed me to gain more knowledge on the Resort as a whole and once the Trainee Management program was advertised, I knew this was the right move for me. Fast forward 6 months from working as a Trainee Manager, I progressed into my current role as Hotel Manager.

 

Tell us about any qualifications, courses or training you have completed while working for the Collection?

Level 3 Hospitality Supervision and Leadership ILM Level 4 Leadership and Management First Aid

 

What is your current position and your day to day duties?

I am now one of the Hotel Managers within Galgorm and my role entails overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Hotel, working closely with the Hotel Reception team and Reception Manager to ensure we are delivering a high standard of service. It also involves identifying any maintenance issues that may occur and liaising with the Maintenance department to ensure these are resolved, being the point of contact for our guests to deal with complaints or answer any queries and working closely with the Senior Management team to help identify any areas where we can improve.

 

What do you love most about working for Galgorm Collection?

The people. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with amazing and professional people across the Collection.
